History

We pay homage to the spirit and flavors of our beloved taverns of yesteryear. Also, to that Peruvian kitchen at home, to the recipes that were written down in notebooks and little by little were forgotten somewhere in the house.

We are in a house built in 1906, which reflects the spirit of a kitchen full of memories, and which seeks to do things as before. We renovated this space and turned it into a relaxed environment to eat, drink and have a good time.

Isolina Taberna Criolla, is our home where spontaneous laughter and the freedom to eat as everyone wishes are celebrated.

We will wait for you!

José del Castillo, our "Chef"

After studying journalism and business administration, José entered the D'Gallia Institute, where his true passion was born: traditional and homemade cooking from Peru. He was 28 years old and had a lot of flavor to share.
In 2001 he took over the stores of "La Red", the restaurant of his mother (Isolina Vargas) founded in 1981. Under his leadership, the restaurant became a benchmark in the Lima gastronomic circuit, consolidating in 2009 with the opening of his second location. Fish and shellfish led the new menu proposal, but without abandoning its Creole origins.
In 2015 Isolina opened its doors, a tribute to his mother whose culinary proposal seeks to rescue the flavors forgotten in old cookbooks and value the food of yesteryear.

Currently, José is working on this adventure, always thinking of a new meeting point for all those who like to eat delicious food around a good table.

The seasoning of memory

The idea of "sharing at home" takes over our menu that we are constantly renewing, made up of generous dishes that go to the center of the table and where each person decides the portions they want to taste.

Among tasty stews prepared for long hours, saltados that flambé to the rhythm of a cajón, Creole and generous sandwiches, chilcanos with Peruvian Pisco, beers and classic house cocktails; We seek to get you a smile that will fill you with memories.

With this we want to rescue those traditions that go beyond a plate and a glass. With our seasoning we are going to transport you to a time in history full of smells and sensations, accompanied by music of memories. Being that meeting point between these wonderful old taverns and you.

Always leaving with the desire to try again the flavors that have been lost over time.

Provecho!
